Open the door to the ice world, to the Emperor’s Journey.

The Emperor's JourneyShare the magnificent and mysterious life of the sovereign of all animals, the one that bears the most inhospitable terrain on Earth, traveling across kilometers, risking their very lives so they can hopefully find their soul mates, share their love and assure the survival of their kind.

Each winter alone in the pitiless deserts of Antarctica a journey takes place, as it has done for milenia. Emperor penguins yielded by their instinct, abandon the safety of their ocean home scrambling to a land where they must begin their march blinded by blizzards to a region so bleak, so extreme that supports no other life. Guided by a supernatural force, by shadows beneath the treacherous ice, they head unerringly to the land where they were born, to their traditional breeding ground and where they’ll pair off and mate.

As the days go by, the weather raises ever rawer. The females remain only until they lay their eggs, exhausted and unwillingly with weeks without nourishment, they travel across 200km to feed in the seas full of fish. The journey is hazardous and great danger awaits in the water, if a female dies the fate of her is shared with her offspring. The males are left behind to protect and hatch the precious eggs, embracing them with their claws. They face great danger too, exposed to -40° Celsius and terrible trails of the polar winter.

After four months during the males eat nothing but snow, the eggs begin to hatch, but the chicks can only stay alive for 48 hours with their own food reserves if their mothers are late returning from the ocean with food they will starve to death.

Once the families are reunited once again, the roles reverse, the roles reverse, the mothers remaining with their new young while their mates head, exhausted and starved, for the sea, and food. While the adults fish, the chicks face the ever-present threat of attack by rapacious giant petrels.

As the weather grows warmer and the ice floes finally begin to crack and melt, the adults will repeat their arduous journey countless times, marching many hundreds of kilometers over some of the most treacherous territory on Earth, until the chicks are ready to take their first faltering dive into the deep blue waters of the Antarctic ocean.

Standing proud on the ice frontier, the emperor embodies the most powerful moments of existence.

Love and solidarity combine in the heroic struggle for life.

It is time for the emperor's legend to be told.
